BCS IHE-UK
A35
Optimal patient
care requires efficient access to comprehensive electronic
healthcare records, and the BCS IHE-UK demonstration shows how
this can be achieved when a patient visits a DGH, a teaching
hospital and his GP. It shows the sharing of documents and
images using the Cross Enterprise Document Sharing (XDS) profile
developed by Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE), a
not-for-profit organisation that enables healthcare-ICT system
users and suppliers to work together to obtain interoperability
of both new and existing computer systems. It can be used on a
local, regional or national scale. Participating companies are
AGFA, Forcare, IBM, Initiate, Simpl (with Microsoft) and Tiani. |
