About the HC events
Twenty-five years ago, in late March, 300 people attended a
three-day conference held by the Medical Specialist Groups of
the British Computer Society at the University of Birmingham and
some 10 organisations demonstrated their computerised systems
from tabletops. The aim of the meeting was to exchange knowledge
and views on how best to mobilise the power of IT not only for
the administration of healthcare services, but also for the
benefit of clinicians and patients.
That aim
has remained unchanged, and on 21 April, HC2008, the event
that's evolved from Current Perspectives in Health Computing
1984, opens its doors to a very much larger convention of
speakers, delegates, exhibitors and exhibition visitors — not
just from the home countries, but also from all over the world:
Australia, Canada, China, New Zealand, Singapore, the USA and
the United Arab Emirates; as well as from the nearer European
countries.
The HC
conferences are organised by members of the Health Informatics
Forum of the British Computer Society.
The HC
exhibitions are organised by BJHC Limited. |
